Oakland Secret is an artist, activist, musical community space with lots of heart and a rich history. A beautiful recognized historic Victorian home on the Brett Hart boardwalk that has been growing as a music venue and art space. You may have been to one of the multi weekly events we host here at our downstairs stage and dance floor area and backyard stage, garden, and tea bar.

Some things to know:

Noise levels -west are located beside the highway, Bart, Brix nightclub, and we host our own events including music shows that can be populated and loud until midnight. If quietness is a big deal for you this won't be your spot, but if you love being in the center of it all it's a lovely exciting place to live.

Location- conveniently located walking distance from 12th St Bart and Jack London Square our space is easy to get to from public transit and has ample street parking.

Rent- $740 incl. utilities

Deposit - $990 (1.5 rent) with the option to pay half at beginning of 1st month and half at end.

Lease- currently in negotiations with landlords about lease renewal but planned for two years though house members do not need to be on the lease so effectively month to month. We are also currently in the process of trying to get bought by a Land trust to insure Oakland secret remains available to the community for generations to come of this is something that is important to you or you have knowledge about big positive!🩷

We are looking for people who truly want to be involved in growing Oakland secret as a community space and venue. So if you're a musician, performer, events organizer, dancer, etc. please let us know and bring your ideas to the space.

This is the perfect spot for your visions to flourish if you have the drive, we have the support.

Other housemates include -an astronomer with the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, black lesbian meme queen manager of our dreams, fetishwear designer and spicy queer events organizer, poi spinning guitar strummer, punk anarchist activist and filmmaker, motorcycle riding sword wielder, underground art partier & spicy professional.
